To simplify things, the Baker family is plagued by an ancient curse. This curse is called the Curse of Nero (read more about it lower on the page). The curse thrives on blood sacrifices and possesses whoever is most fit to fulfill it's wishes. The curse is passed down through the generations, and Rowan is the current holder.
